  1. Thanks for that, looks really nice mate. Saw it on your profile pic but wasn't sure if it was a 1000.
  2. @denisdany pics of the above? If already posted I apologize.
  3. Cheers Tony it did seem odd to have that amount of play. I have a couple of GT250X7's and the sprockets do have play in them but they're not carrying so much weight or power I suppose.
  4. Ordered a 530 conversion for the above during the first lockdown but only got round to fitting it this week. Had to return the first front sprocket that was sent as it was for a Kawasaki FFS, shit happens! Problem I have is that I had the correct item delivered today and fitted it along with 5mm spacer provided and locking washer, with the nut fully tightened there's still 2mm of side play, is this ok or am I missing something?
  5. Haven't got that bike anymore @Bongo_Hbut a quick search came up with this, matches the code that you have so looks promising.
  6. I had a hagon fitted to my old GSX1100EF (GS1150 on your side of the Atlantic) providing you purchase one for that model it will be a direct fitment I would have thought, owing to that models popularity in the USA and Canada there would be aftermarket shock absorber manufacturers in that part of the world producing direct fitment alternatives. Having said that my hagon shock did the trick for the reasonable price paid.
  7. I asked the very same question about 18 months ago as I wanted to detain the original shock. I'll give you the same answer that came my way, find the nearest bin or skip and throw it in. Lots of alternatives on the market for different budgets.
  8. Well that's some intro after nearly four years of signing up. Why did you keep that stunner under wraps for so long? Lots of places providing the services that you are after, I'm sure someone on here will recommend soon. Also take a look at the traders section. Welcome.
  9. Steady on @wraith we get sterling service off the good old DVLA this side of the border (not!), one of them only has to sneeze there and they all fuck off home for a fortnight, they've become a laughing stock here in Wales. BTW what the fuck's a daffodil?
  10. Iconic bike from my more youthful days, the years haven't aged them colours.
  11. Glad you're sorted, I noticed it was snapped up fairly handy, these things don't stay on sale for long.
  12. @denisdThis has appeared on FB if it's of any use mate.
  13. Nice buy, if you find a motor for around a grand you're still quids in, one will turn up if you're patient.
  14. Gettin complicated now Dezza The trouble is this theory can't explain away the fact of when I bleed the system at the slave cylinder bubbles of air can be seen for a good while up until the clutch is fully engaging and doing its job, then I have no trouble again provided I don't leave it standing for a few months, really strange.
  15. Cheers Tony,I get it that something is letting in air but I'd have thought there would be hydraulic fluid leaking if that was the case? What's your thoughts? The b6 clutch operating system sounds like an option but won't be considering that until winter.
  16. Anyone to please point me in the right direction with a strange issue with my bandit 12? Every time I leave it standing for a lengthy time period the hydraulics operating the clutch take in air from somewhere, I've checked for leaks and there doesn't appear to have any to and including the slave cylinder. I bleed the system and all is well. When I use the bike on a regular basis there's no problem, anyone else had this problem?
  17. Welcome Jon, even half built oldskool projects stir great interest for us, so don't be shy with the pics
  18. Do these money grabbing fuckers really think about anything else when they come up with these stupid ideas? They're so engrossed in their little world of money counts for everything they haven't even got the gumption to work out the potential fallout of their actions. It pissed me off to think of how much time and effort that the likes of @Paulmand others ,not only on this group but many others put into these events only to be kicked in the teeth by these greedy bastards! Well good on everyone who says enough!
  19. Hi matthew and welcome. I had one of these gsx250's from new when I was a young lad, it got me around and I past my test on it, quite a capable little bike. There were quite a few little niggles though and with the one you're thinking of buying it sounds like there's a lot of money needs to be spent. Even if you sort the motor the electrics are a bloody nightmare and with all those km's as you say, almost everything will need replacing. If you really still want it I'd be looking for an engine with lower km's as an alternative, but if it were my money I'd be looking for something that needs less spending on it . Good luck
  20. I get my brake parts from powerhouse in Chesterfield, brilliant service and they do seals, pistons, pins, clips etc at reasonable cost, just rebuilt my gsx1100 efe brakes with their stuff. They also do a rebuild service, blast and spray your calipers too, my mate used this on his bike and had great praise for their work. Good luck.

    Kit

Hi @Kit welcome to Oss, they're not really nasty, pisstakin is a given though so please don't be offended. If you take a look at rule 8 it will give you the info you require mate. Best thing to do is build a trick as fuck bandit 600 and post a pic then the last laugh will be yours
  22. Just the Speedo or the whole cluster? Sorry guys for straying off topic, bad manners. I'll continue this with pm's
