  1. Thanks guys, really appreciate your feedback. Did as you suggested but didn't quite work. Hooked everything up and with stock relay everything lights up correctly but no flash. With new adjustable relay, turn signals don't light and don't flash. Bench tested new relay with single test light and it does work on its own. FYi, I'm testing this on my bench. The wiring harness is not on the bike. So I have access to the complete harness. Set-up with all stock lights system works fine. To the best of my understanding the fault seems to lie in the new relay missing an internal connection. Any thoughts?
  2. Can anyone that has installed led turn signals give me some help with wiring up the necessary components. Would like to be able to just replace the relay (NIPPONDENSO FU249CD) to avoid adding resistors and more wires but can't find any info on what the replacement would be. I'm thinking the indicator lights in gauge cluster need to be swapped out as well with T10 based led as they are in the same circuit. Would also like to retain the self canceling feature. Any tips or info great,y appreciated. Thx
  3. Thanks for the response guys. All good info. Found that PERMATEX actually has a sleeve retainer compound. Loctite 640 is the same. Will try that. Am quite confident that will resolve my problem. Your help is much appreciated. Cheers
  4. Can anyone tell me if having a loose cylinder sleeve will be a problem? I deglazed cylinder walls before installing new rings. That went well. After washing out with warm soap and water Noticed that # 4 sleeve was sitting slightly above the deck. Tapped it down, no problem. Then realized I could push it up from the bottom. Didn't come right out but yah it's loose. I'm thinking once bolted in it'll be OK but not sure. Any advice?
  5. Hi, I'm new to this site so please advise me if I am not following the proper protocols. I don't want to annoy anyone. Not even sure if I'm in the right space to ask for help. But here goes anyway. I am restoring, not rebuilding, the 82 GS1100EZ I bought new here in Canada. A crash destroyed my instrument cluster and I got a new(used) one from USA. My harness was equiped with a single 18 pin connector to cluster, the new one came with 2, 9pin connectors. No problem, rebuilt it with 2 deutsch connectors. However, my problem is I'm left with a brown/white wire for the "tail" lamp with no corresponding connection to harness. All the wiring diagrams I've seen show this wire runs from the lamp thru the connector to the check panel control unit but there is no Br/W wire in my harness. All other wires are accounted for. I've set up the harness on my bench with all lighting connected. Seems to work fine but of course the cluster tail lamp is inoperative . Anyone have any knowledge or advice that can help solve this issue.
