  1. How many teeth on the drive gear? The one behind the clutch?
  2. Nothing concrete, I know a couple of friends who've had them burst but from memory that was down to incorrect charging or mechanical damage. If cost isn't an issue, then fine; fancy battery it is.
  3. Fair enough. The CTZ12-S weighs 2.8 kg, quite a bit heavier, but will supply 3Ah more but with a cost of maybe £25-£30. Admittedly,I'm biased though. I dont like the Lithium battery packs, don't trust em.
  4. As long as you're not cranking for ages to start, a small 12Ah sealed battery should be more than enough. What's the electrical load exactly? Just the CDI unit?
  5. @Wescooley19 (Simon Francis) built a nice one, he'll have some good advice. Try a Google search for "Yorkshire teapot"
  6. Depends on the range of your multimeter. I've found the one I normally use won't read high enough to measure the secondary resistance. Ive had to use a Megger type insulation tester in the past.
  7. Fair enough, I had problems with them in mine iirc.
  8. Daft question, have you fitted the rubber plugs in the jet tubes? You know the ones i mean?
  9. From memory, it's the K frame that's smaller and has that issue. But I might be wrong.
  10. Unless there are any furiously-fapping cops around who ride about with the stand down wondering what the noise and awful handling is every time they make a left?
  11. Not at anyone in particular. I'm sure we've all done it... Once. Or tried starting it in gear. Once. If you can't form the habit of giving the stand a quick nudge to confirm or dipping the clutch before pressing the button, you're probably also the bloke who rides around merrily indicating left for the past ten miles with flat tyres. Its sloppy. Just sayin.
  12. If you're such a fucktard you're not capable of remembering to kick the stand up before buggering off, you should probably take up another hobby, like wanking or being a copper.
  13. Yup. The lamp receives a positive feed from the loom and picks up its ground connection through the switch.
  14. From what you've said before, Ross, your slabby lights are switched direct from the clusters without the relays in some (most?) slabby looms. As others have said, beware of simply fitting larger wattage lamps. Youve already had one fusebox scorchio incident. Could you look at replacing the headlight assembly with modern reflectors and lenses? I know the originals lose some of their high mirror finish over time. The clear lenses and prismatic reflectors like the new bandit has might look good if you can find the right diameter.
  15. Yep, mechanical advance, even on the ones with electronic ignition. Make sure the advancer unit isn't stuck.
  16. Most likely a loose connection where the blade of the fuse plugs into the terminal in the fuse box. As stated above, they should all be 10amp anyway.
  17. The hex plug by the timing pickup case.
  18. Sump temperature would probably be a more accurate reading.
  19. Just a quick un, what final capacity do 1127 pistons into 1052 slabby give? Spanks. ;)
  20. I think this is for 1200, not 100% sure.
  21. To be fair, the 38's were too big for the 750L regardless.
  22. I'll pm you shortly @Fula28
