I've made a start, main holdup is the flanges at the mo. Using 1.5 mm wall 304 stainless tube 38mm dia due to space restrictions at the turbo flange. Pre bent 90 tubes to get everything in the right place where needed. I will put up pics when some substantial progress has been made...

    Assuming draw-through ?

Do you actually want 90s? 2 of the 4 cylinders need to go into the front part of the collector- this means the need a little less than 90degrees?

    see pics for reference:

Niceone, cheers. Could be helpful but the pipes I'm using for my particular header design are 38mm dia, with gsx 11 stud spacing. 38mm dia due to space restrictions at the turbo flange.

    Cheers.

Have you made your headers yet?

    pics please

  3. Apparently standard 14 Downpipe diameter is 42mm.

I believe the 11 flange bolt spacing is circa 62mm with an exhaust port of 46mm.

In sure someone who owns a 14 will come along shortly with some dimensions.

Does anyone happen to know what the dimensions are for gsx1400 exhaust header flanges? After some for my 1100 et build if someone has some and would be kind enough to measure?

    Thanks.

Do we know gsx14 flanges fit an 11?

Downpipe diameter and hole spacing the same? ( hoping the answer is Yes- Delkevic do 4 for £40)

Made to order or bought as stock? ( I know he makes all of them, I guess the question is did you commission it?)

hello there, ive come across a few  intresting bikes on Eblag im intrested in.   and thought id try get some background on it. its been for sale for ages granted not a lot of people have 13 grand laying around to spunk on a 45 year old toy. ive always wanted an old suzuki  particularly a gs1000 as my dad has them but i dont think id be too excited about a standard bike. basicly its a toss up between two bikes im intrested in, one is the gs thou and the other is an xr69 rep with a gixxer11 based motor.  is anyone familiar with either of them, id imagine the gs is a fairly well documented bike. thanks

Did you get anywhere with this?

Bikes discussed in thread are all still for sale?

  8. Just to bump this thread:

I just picked up a set of 750 pump gears (38 and 29 tooth respectively ) for £50 from the ‘Bay.

Online breaker had a motor he was splitting and accepted a cheeky offer.

Point of this is- deals are still out there and you don’t need to spend out £250 for two gears.

Bollocks. There may be a solution, but still, bollocks. I really don't need or want the complication of an injection conversion.

Surprised no one has suggested Draw-thru yet…

edit: for the sake of variety, or a blow -thru…

I’d love to own dodges old slabby and put to how it was when he had it last

    Was there more than one?

This was buzzing around Oxfordshire a few years ago.

    Looks similar.

Thanks R1, seen those but a little pricey for a race bike (y)

So looking now at the cheap chinese rearsets and make adapter plates to suit ;)

    Pics of said race bike?

I did run mine on the road a few times but the head got very hot... ...which I would guess was down to lack of oil flow.....

in the oil boiler there is a lot of oil volume that is directly pumped to the head.

.the air cooled motor even with uprated gears  get's  no ware near close to the same volume :(

    @slayer61- have you considered this?

plan would be to get some period looking dymag ch3a's in satin black with the difference if i ended up with the gs

For the money I’d go for the other xr69 on the ‘bay.

Alternatively, you could build a helluva gs1000 track special for £20k
