I keep looking, but can’t find anything. Always see info on the 884 kit, but seems to be discontinued. Apparently it’s quite a nice upgrade as it gives good power / torque curve. (Apparently)

dunno about 1100 / 1200’s for cheap anymore. All the ones I see are about £800 without carbs

On eb@y maybe but OSS prices tend to be a lot lower. You sell lower; you buy lower :)

Saw that one for sale on the 'bay . Was supposed to be a regular runner , how is it ?

If you decide to swap out the wheels for something newer I might be interested in acquiring your  old ones :tu

Any excuse for a trip to the Trip in Nottingham is welcome .

I can still recall the exploits of Notts Custom Cycles back when men were men etc etc , and didn't need to "identify"

    & Welcome !

I often pop into the Trip if I am in Nottingham city centre. They have Old Peculiar on draft :)

  3. What ST says. Has it had any sensible chassis mods to account for the potential large increase in power? It tends to help with the laundry bills having a bike that stops when you want it to and doesn't fight back when tipped into a corner. Any pics of the bike? We like pics :).

  4. Dunno much about Dyna ignitions (someone who does should be along soon :)) but you can get an Ignitec adjustable CDI from Czechia for a reasonable price that will be compatible with the stock pickups. I may have to get one soon for my EFE engine as I think the CDI is playing up.

There's also a bloke in Belgium that makes and sells aftermarket CDIs for OSS bikes but I am buggered if I can find his website :(.

  5. Yep, I was holding that one back: the aircooled and oilcooled selector mechanisms work in different directions so if for example a 26mm gear position switch (from an old four) was used on an oilcooled bike, to get it to work correctly with an OEM Suzuki gear indicator (that to my knowledge were only ever fitted to big aircooled fours and some ancient two strokes), would require at least a load of faffing about with the wiring.

    Correct 4 different types

Do both 26mm types fit all engines with a 26mm switch recess and likewise do both 36mm types fit all engines with a 36mm recess? If so, we need a table showing 26 and 36mm engines and models that had either basic neutral or gear indicator switches. I am interested in this because I have spare EFE gear indicator salvaged from some wrecked clocks (34 years ago O.o) that could go onto an oilcooled bike (26mm switch for gear indicator needed???).

  7. GSXR (and 750 teapot??) rubbers are 5mm shorter so bring the carbs closer to the head. But if everything is on, by the description I agree with Upshot - find some of the rubbers that attach the carbs to the airbox and use these as bellmouths in order to mount Ramair dual filters. Or source some actual bellmouths and use them to mount the filters.

  8. What carbs and carb rubbers are you using? This will make a difference as to where the carbs sit in the frame. One positive is the 750 slabby engine is relatively tall compared to the slingshot 750s so you may not be miles out from where the original carbs sat.

  9. 1000 is a 6 inch rim. You could get a matched wheel with a 5.5 inch rim from a 600 (or 750???) and it would probably be much easier to fit as you'd be presented with fewer chain clearance problems.
