I paid the place I bought my stanchions from to do it last time, a whopping £5 a leg. Wasn't even worth trying to do it myself in my (lazy) opinion.

OE slabby 750 carbs are 29mm, how are those being measured?

Stainless bolts with plenty of copper slip here. Mind you, my downpipes are spring fit so never need to disturb them.

I'd still start with what I suggested above, always do with a new bike with CV carbs running aftermarket exhaust and a K&N airbox element. Not blown one up... yet
