  1. Bonjour, someone has drilled out the M4 hollow bolt that is used to balance the carbs (where you would screw in the copper extension pipe engine side of the carb) and replaced with an M5 Helioil. How does one go about reducing thread a size back to a hollow M4.
  2. Thanks for the replies guys, so, turns out you can get a key cut by using the 3 digit code found on the ignition or seat lock. Turns out that my ignition/fuel has a different number than the seat lock and not one that is recognised as a genuine Suzuki number. The series for a 78 GS1000 is 101-499 but the ignition and fuel has 068 meaning it must have been changed out some time ago. The guy sorting me out with the seat lock key is John, very helpful and clearly knows his keys! https://www.Eblag.co.uk/itm/Classic-Suzuki-motorcycle-keys-cut-to-code-free-UK-post/284100487010?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2648 @Peddathanks for the reference, found this video on Youtube and think i will try with a pick lock set from Amazon and see how i get on
  3. Hello all Lost the keys with a house move! Away to buy a new ignition and cap. Any tips, previous experience on how to remove the fuel cap easily? Ta Mark
  4. So, once out difficult to get back in/replace? Do you know if this part can be replaced?
  5. Looks like a push fit, should be able to be changed as its a brass part that could get clogged. Can't find a part with that discription?
  6. That part makes sense! Mmmm, loose now! Wonder if you can get a part?! He goes on the hunt!
  7. Went to Allens Performance who sent me to Robinsons Founder who sent me NRP. Got there in the end ;-)
  8. So, update! Have found the correct kit https://nrp-carbs.co.uk/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=153&search=gs1000&page=2 However, these are for a UK VM28 and I am running US VM26. They do have the VM26 on their site but they are "out of stock"! I would presume the internals are exactly the same with just the difference being the carb bore?
  9. I have been able to clear the broken tips and nothing is blocking them
  10. Cheers CockneyRick, would be good to see
  11. Cheers, good shout, will give them a call and report back
  12. I'm on the roundside vm26ss so may not be the same? It's a real nice offer but wouldnt want you going through all the trouble stripping down and having to replace gaskets and stuff. Do you know of a carb expert that can be contacted?
