  1. Interesting info. I'm waiting on parts for my slingshit and once thats done i'll get the ET in the workshop and have a good inspection before i start it. Its been laid up for 11 years now. (Time flies when you make consistently poor life choices haha)
  2. Unlike a lot of you guys this isnt a big power ET. Its a stock engine with a Harris pipe and half an Airbox (a shit adaption, so will be looking for a useable airbox at some point) bandit 12 front forks in slingshot yokes. renthal bars and a gsxr wheels. Nothing fancy. Unsurprisingly its flat black
  3. Fair comment. When i 1st picked this thing up it didnt concern me. But there were more affordable spares about back then.
  4. Ok so how much of an issue is this. Should i be thinking of a top end overhaul and can i fit a better gasket. I don't want to trash a head.
  5. Hello all, been a while! Have tried to search but couldnt find answer to this. I'm sure i remember reading a long time ago in i think Streetfighters mag that the aircooled 1100 GSX (pre Efe i think) had an issue with the base gasket breaking down and blocking an oil way and leading to the head being starved of oil and fucking them. If this is the case, is there a model range thats affected? And did Suzuki alter anything to stop it? Just wondering if i should be concerned about my 1100ET which has been off the road for 10years but ive just dug out again and if there is a way of indentifying weather its one of the affected motors without stripping it.
  6. Thanks guys. If there's a possibility i have to alter mounts i'll wait till i can get it onto alchotraz to have it done.
  7. Anyone? The reason i'm asking is i have just purchased this 750 ET frame with braced arm and monoshock conversion of a well known auction site. It's sat in the UK atm at a friends and i won't be picking it up until the zombie virus has gone away. So while it's over there i could get it blasted and powder coated at half the cost it would be over here but i don't want to do that if i then have to start messing with it to get me EFE engine in.
  8. Whats the deal with motor mounts for an efe motor into a 750et frame. Can i use ET mounts or do i need to make new ones?
  9. I think the twinshock arm would look great........... on my ET
  10. Cheers guys. After years of having butchered suzukis i just fancy one roughly as they were intended. Not doing a resto, can't be arsed with that just don't like the goldfish bowl headlight on the 750M i had years ago
  11. Cheers guys. One of the things i've really noticed (and get wound up by) is so many parts people are advertising stuff as as fits 750 and 1100. And while a lot of stuff fits or can be adapted it's not like for like. I'll make sure to get 750 fairing and mounts then.
  12. What are the differences between GSXR 750 (88-90) and 1100 (89-90) fairings. I assume the mid sections are different due to height of engines. But what about the rest? I Googled and got different answers. I have an 88 750 and looking at my options for original type fairing.
  13. And finally lugs. The front ones do mate up with tank. I don't have the tank at home as i didn't really want to explain that to insurance if somet went wrong. But when i took it off the front lugs fit as they should. The lower ones do not line up with anything but i can't see it being an issue to make a bracket with gromit off the pillion foot rest hangers.
  14. The bolt holes line up fine on subframe under where pillion seat sits
  15. Here you can see the gap between the frame and the plastics where grab rail should fit.
  16. @spiderpiglast lot of photos as promised with plastics plonked on frame.
  17. Hello yes. Bandit stems are longer than the GS/GSX/GSXR headstocks which as a rule all take the same bearing sizes. I think GS750 was oddball for suzuki and used a smaller diameter stem. So if your frame has been built with a GS750 headstock i don't think you'll be able to use the normal route of GSXR stem in bandit yokes. Best thing is to pull your front end out and have the stem pressed out and then measure where it fits into the yoke and compare with bandit. Oh and pop over to General chat and introduce yourself, show photos of your bike, tell us how you will buy us all beer for being awesome etc.
  18. M - front seat won't quite line up if have the J pilion seat fitted. If i was doing another Rat bike it would go with a good whack. M pilion seat won't fit J bodywork without surgery. I'm going home now to drink many cold ones.
  19. M seat fits straight on the 88 frame and lines up with latch.
  20. Found the front seats! Side by side.
  21. I would compare the front seats but i appear to have either lost or eaten them.
  22. So my seats are definitely M seats (black) as you can see from these photos but the bolt spacing is the same. So it's really only your options on grab rail mounting or glassing like mine. When i get back home i'll throw the 750M plastics back on my frame and take some more pics.
  23. So as i got to actually leave the house and check the warehouse today i took the pillion seat from the lounge bike with me to check along side this fine example of an 88 750
  24. I used a 170 tyre on my 5.5rim but that was in a bandit arm. Glad i haven't gone mad i was sure there were some bikes on here with 5.5 in stock arm.
