    Non starter

bear with me, my first ever attempt at posting photos on a forum. o.k so went to lockup today and this is what I've got, positive (black) from battery to starter solenoid also black/yellow to same post which then joins to a red wire. Black (with yellow sleve) to starter moter yellow/green from starter solenoid to ????? there is also a small metal box under the battery tray with a yellow wire and a black wire, I think the yellow goes to the generator ??, (picture 2 with a pen pointing at it, what is it. Is there any way i can bypass most of the original wiring, i only need to get the bike to start to check if the engine is o.k Thanks, Mouse

BigT Tried it just now and it works fine now, thank you And yep it shows a fuse box and even where it is, problem is still cant find it on my bike, o.k i admit i dont have the standed side-panels but i can't see any reason i would have hid the fusebox anywhere, but have been known to do stupider things, Going back tomorrow with a big torch and a pair of specs,

  8. Hi dont know if this will help but recently got some plugs for my bike from a well known online site named after a river and they showed plug caps as well , i specified what bike the plugs where for and the caps matched what i had, (also got some, caps, NGK make)
  9. Hi got a 1977 gs750 that's not been run for a good few years but dry stored. Today armed with new filter, oil plugs, battery ect ect went to see if any life in it, short answer no, no idiot lights nothing, put a spanner across starter solenoid and it will crank but there is no spark at any of the plugs, first port of call was the fuses but after half hour no fuses no fuse box nothing ???, Any ideas where to start next Thank you Mouse.

  11. Like a fecking humming top. 370steve, thank for the photos, much appreciated. Didn't expect you to take the wheel out just for me, the people on here are so nice.
  12. B12 swinger into GS750 frame First of FECKING AWESOM, got lots of questions but to avoid bothering to much can I just ask what size is that rear tire and do you have any side on photos so I can see the foot controls please. (and more of that arm ) Mummmmmm Like that idea but looking on e-blag there are rf900 arms with torque arms, is there a specific model I should look out for ?? Thank you
  13. Much appreciated, As I've got a gsxr I'm using as a doner hopefully I can use the front calliper's of that then. Also thanks for the info about the stem swop, I assume the spacers go under the bottom yoke bearing ??, problem is no engineering shops near me to get bits made.. Still on the fence about twin or monoshock but good to know where to get bits from.
  14. o.k thank you in what way are the brakes better and is it a viable swop ??
  15. Hi I have a gs 750 that i want to fit bandit front and rear ends on. I have been told that i need a B 12 rear end as the wheel is wider than a 600 so i can fit a 180 tyre. Now my question is can i fit a complete 600 front end or will it be a pig to do or not good to ride, the main reason for going the 600 route is that i have been offered a complete front end for not a lot of cash. Is there much difference between bandit 600 and 1200 front ends (talking about 1996 ish models) Thank you Mouse

    gs heads

Hi Thank for the reply, whole lot clearer now i have found out that the 750 inlet valve is . no 27.5mm no info on the exhaust but with this info i now think the 750 head is a non starter. Bit of a arse as now need to look for 850 head an carbs if i go this route. Mouse.

Sorry for sounding dim but the first part of your post suggests that that the 750 head will not work on 850 barrels, but then you say which sounds like it will work, can you please claify please. Thank you

    Hi There

Hi Just thought i'd say hello before asking questions. i,ve got a 98 gs750 thats been garaged for umpteen years and am looking to put it back on the road. I have a couple of ideas at the moment engine wise such as 850 barrels or a early slabbie gsxr lump but am still thinking these over. All the best Mouse
