    Ignitech on efe

Let us know if it runs any better. Are you on a modified motor? It would be useful to stop that annoying kick back too maybe. Mike
  2. Its about time gs tanks went back into production, wouls be good if suzuki re made the 1000s one now its historic. Does anyone know if its on the cards?
  3. I was thinking of yss as a compromise between what I wanted. ie maxton. And what I could afford. Hagon. Until I noticed those 3 letters stamped in the shocks. I have no idea how old they are.
  4. Excellent thanks. I don't suppose you have a diameter to I can get some done prior to stripping it? Mike
  5. Will look forwards to your results. It's my rear thats the biggest problem. Some yss pogo stick shocks.

  7. I don't think it's you're problem, but I've had a few engines converted to right hand change. The best way is to extend the gearchange out through the clutch cover. The linkages never work as well as the direct approach. Mike
  8. Was wondering whether to try it. I know they are old forks, so the std spring has probably sagged a bit. It will be a couple of weeks before I get chance to measure up what size is needed. I'll let you know how it goes.
  9. I have the same problem, using up too much travel just with the weight of the bike. Have you tried inserting a spacer on the spring?

    Gsx1100 gearing

Hi Dezza Its a 170 rear, I think 60 series. Had a good run out yesterday, and actually it doesn't seem too far out 2up. It is a 530 chain, I thought there was room for bigger front sprocket, but you could be right. The gearing will probably be the only thing turbo about it then. I'm hoping to do a few miles on it this summer, and you're guaranteed 4 hours on motorway and dual carriageway to get anywhere from Cornwall. Easy cruising at 75 is what I'm after. Mike
  11. The nut was well loose when i took the lid off for a looksie. Just about off. Quite glad the rotor came off, and the clutch slipped when i tried to bump off. Nearly end of days for the old girl.

    Gsx1100 gearing

You get the chain wearing in the same place, one odd and one even makes sure it wears evenly.
  13. Hi all, I have a gs1000 with gsx1100 motor. The gearing is 17/48. It feels quite low. 6k revs at 90. Thinking to jump to 18 at the front, i know evens are not ideal, but has anyone run this with a std motor. Id like to cruise 80ish without the buzzing vibes. Mike
  14. Hub fitted at last. Its the later one with the steel insert, so hopefully will last a while.
  15. I just fitted a ledar kit, (from grumpy) and 135 mains to my 1100 with k&n ovals and harris type pipe. Runs quite sweet now.
  16. Hi stretch, Hub ordered. Hopefully by the weekend it will be up and running again.
  17. One mystery solved any way. I've re wired the kill switch so the starter is live when ignition on, so I can spin the starter, then put the ignition on. hopefully that will stop the kick back. Now just need a new clutch hub, as the splines are worn on that. I only wanted to put some heavier clutch springs in.
  18. Did wonder if there was some expert would spot what cover it was. The gasket is gsx and fits..
  19. Hi Gixer1460, It is a gsx1100 motor, with dyna ignition. I'm not sure what the cover is though.
  20. Bought a timing light, reset the ignition that was a few degrees out. It's still kicking back on start up. Any ideas? Plus my cover doesn't fit properly, but the gasket does. The bottom bolt doesn't line up with the one on the crankcase. The engine no starts gs1100x if that helps.
