  1. Brilliant thanks, that makes sense, cheers. how high would the turbo have to be mounted should I go with out one? its going on a 1100 slabby. also these emtes mechanical type ones- where are these available? thanks again
  2. Hi all, is it necessary to have a pump to scavenge the oil away from the turbo or does it depend on the location/height of where the turbo is mounted? if so what are best, electric or mechanical? Thank you
  3. Ok I’m hearing you all, will see how I get on!
  4. Cool, will try both ways. As my pistons are already in the barrels I will try my original option, I do have the buttons with the mtc pistons instead of circlips, so that should make it slightly easier. I’ll most likely be going it alone so a lot of patients and being came required! it was fairly tight squeeze getting the pistons in when on the bench, never mind trying to do it with the pistons on the conrod, that’s why I thought the first option. will let you guys know how I get on. Thanks for the advice
  5. No sorry I should be more clear, the new pistons are in the barrels by using a ring compressor, now I need to connect the pistons to the Conrods. I am thinking about sliding the pistons so the wrist pins are exposed then slide the pin in. Is this possible and/or what other ways are they?
  6. What’s the best way, looking really tricky this is. Any advice I would be more than grateful, cheers
  7. Cool, so they are 4 shorter ones, as said the APE studs are all about the same length, like you say, if they torque down ok with thread to spare then can’t see why it would not be all ok. the shorter ones probably came from the middle! cheers gents
  8. Indeed, I should of given more information.. it’s for a 86 GSXR 1100 1052 motor! the brand new APE studs are all pretty much the same length, a couple are a fraction shorter. my original studs I have 4 shorter. ive never known head bolts to be different lengths! cheers bobby
  9. Hey guys, as the title, I'm in the process of fitting APE studs etc, tightening them down to correct torque to notice not all are sat at the same length, just looked at my old ones to find 4 are slightly shorter. Now, I did not pay attention when removing them nor does my workshop manual tell me which 4 are the short ones are where they go, Can anyone please help me. Cheers bobby
  10. How are these set properly? Engine on a bench. Im cautious and want things correct.. Cheers
  11. 18 euros postage, works out all in approx £34 mine has seen better days
  12. Am I ok to clean them (remove carbon deposits) using a wire wheel on a bench grinder?
  13. Oh right, I did check on there, must not of looked hard enough, is that site a good place to source parts from?
  14. 750 slabby I think, it was on my Metmachex swingarm
  15. Nothing on there, any other suggestions?
  16. Guys, where if possible could I get a new drive chain slider? see pics attached, is this one common between a few models ? cheers
  17. It does yes, suggesting that it is in fact for a 750!
  18. The reason I am asking is because I’m fitting a Metmachex swinger in it and although stamped on it is Gsxr 750 1100 it can’t surly can’t be for both- now knowing they are not a straight swap between original arms. im now about sure that the Metmachex is for a 750. I still want to be able to use it, just a lot of head scratching at the moment
  19. Ive actually got a 750 linkage which i have tried with no luck, apart from the linkage, what other parts can I source to try?
  20. Good evening all, http://oldskoolsuzuki.info/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Swing-Arms1.pdf in regards to the link posted on this site- I am right in saying that a slabby 750 arm will go in a slabby 1100 frame? Now I've searched the topics but can't seem to find anyone who may have done it. Cant see why anyone would as the 750 arms are shorter? (its more common the other way round isn't it?) Anyhow- Has anyone done this? if so, Was it a straight swap? Last question and my most important one is, the distance/angle between the centre of the main swingarm pivot tube to the centre of the suspension link arm fixing (on the swingarm) the same distance and/or angle? and the position of the frame bracket to link arm are they located exactly the same on the 750 frame and 1100 frame? hope some of that makes sense and thanks in advance to anyone who can give me some information for this cheers bobby
  21. Ok Cool. I’ll go and get the measurements and a cardboard cutout over the weekend and get back to you. What’s the thickness of the brace going to be?
