  1. Now you know what`s missing at yours.
  2. That's an awesome buld. I like the draw thru systems...
  3. Front brake components arrived... Brembo Disks and Brembo P4 CNC machined callipers. That's what I like!!!
  4. Egli made these frames years before RAU started it's manufacturing. So I think RAU was inspired by EGLI. I like those wheels, nevertheless I'm after some ASTRALITE wheels for over years, but never had a chance to get a set. Another option would be a set of PVM wheels, but they are much heavier than the slabside wheels are.
  5. Hi everybody... Think it's time to introduce my new project I'm actually on. Got this backbone frame from a mate, who had it in stock for future projects. So I'm happy that he sold it to me. This frame was produced by RAU in the early '80s. It is designed to take a GS1000 lump. First idea was to put an 1127 ccm oilboiler in, but I think it would be a shame not to use this OSS engine. Back to OSS I grabbed a bigbore GS1000 engine with supposed 1180ccm, Yoshi cams and ported head with bigger valves. For a first try I used wheels and fork from a katana 1100, but for my taste much to heavy and difficult to get good tyres for. After collecting some parts, this is the actual status: - oldschool seat unit and front fairing - 18" wheels and fork from '87 slabside - bigbore lump (needs a rebuild) - exhaust manifold from Yoshimura (seller told it is...) Would like to cut some pieces off the fairing and seat unit I'm now waiting for the engine mounting plates from the laser cutter... Goal is, to build a classic OSS superbike! Will keep you updated
  6. Thanks for your answers. I ordered a complete ignition from a kat yesterday.
  7. Yes, I know. The rotor is still mechanical, because if the integrated advancer, but the pick up plate is like the later ones. Think I'll try the ignition System from the Katana. Hope it will work.
  8. Hi everybody, I'm actual on a RAU trickframe with an GS1000 engine. Would like to kick out he mechanical ignition pick up. I heard about the possibility to use the ignition pick up and ecu module from a later gsx1100 (e.g. katana) Did anybody done this conversion? I wonder if the ignition timing is the same. Maybe somebody in here has some experience with that. Thanks in advance Nickel
  9. Bottom bearings are the same (32006) but the press fit is slightly different. Slabby or slingy stem is slightly to small to fir the k series bottom yoke.
  10. If you have a look at all the bikes, that have been modified with TNT swingarms, there could not be any TNTs "on" the road. Here in germany they are very popular for trick frames and steel tubed frames, like bandit a.s.o. I had mine nickel plated, but this has been higher in price, than the swingarm itself.
  11. This is the guy, who made the tank and seat unit carbon cover: http://www.nohldesign.de/Startseite/ Downpipes are "Schüle" and the muffler is "Speed Products", with a Yoshi sticker. Benelli TNT swingarms are hard to find and meanwhile very expensive. Made a bargain with mine.
  12. Tank and seat unit is carbon covered. It's not a real carbon tank.
  13. Frame is nickel plated and the wheels PVM Phönix.
  14. So, like Schooter has done, here are some pics of my Mag4 covered in carbon. Coming modifications: Mikuni TMR36 instead of RS, fork with radial calipers, hope I can get a fork from GSXR1000 K5 or younger. Mag 4 makes a lot of fun to ride. Cheers
