"Gettin lapped is better than not racing at all" Exactly Many many years ago, i started in the streestocks and Unlimited class on my bog standard B12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i spent the first 6 meetings getting lapped And the most enjoyable race ever was at pembary when i finished 31st out of 40 but didnt get lapped... after 5 years my best ever result was 12 th in the sound of Thunder on my TL1000 as the first 6 fell off in a big heap........ its all a learing curve, keep at it shipmate, i look farward to your race reports.. .

I’ve had 25 B12’s or B12 powered bikes and never had a worn bore, except one I bought that I found out later had been left out side with no plugs, and another one that smoked when fired up that had half a ring missing….

That dosent sound like oil causing the backfiring??? could be fuel flooding the cylinder, washing all the carbon off the valves and head and would look like oil through a shufty scope.. defective float valve or pilot jet fell out .. Had the same when a bandit owner swore blind he had oil coming out of the exhaust headers join, it was neat fuel from a pilot jet that had fell out coming straight through the ebgine and dribbling out the exhaust join can you get an IR thermometer and see which cylinders arent firing.. check carb from that cylinder before pulling the head again.. Might be nothing to do with it but easier than top end rebuild??

It was a very long time ago, 17 years we cant buy a head for 200 quid now!!!! yes small batery and all leccy stuff under the very uncomfortable seat it was a good bike, really fun to ride another one i should have kept!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive fitted a few to B12's, it certainly livens them up, first one was years ago ( 2006??) , i got the whole 750 engine for £35 as the gearbox had gone big time. I knew nothing about degreeing cams so I juist stuck the cams and head on using B12 sprockets and timing, it worked spot on..... I fitted it to the B12 below, had issues with the tap to carb top clearance due to steeper angle, tried spacing tank but it looked pants so fitted a pingle tap and all was well... eventually had it Dyno'd, made 138 RWHP and accelerated like a mad thing, the midrange was a lot less but what fun when revved.... Dyno man said it would have made a couple more donkeys, if some idiot hadnt cut the Yoshi can down!!!!!!!!!!

B12 discs are 2 mm less offset than slingy ones. The forks in the picture are slingy ones, so the disce will be fine with that set up and B12 or slingy wheel

all slingshot 750 and 1100, front wheels from 89 onwards have the same hub and spindle size as the bandit, last year of 750 was 95 pre SRAD, 1100 contiunued until 97 I think?? they will all fit the bandit just spokes are differant

Looks like it Tony, but ive just noticed there is a bolt missing from the strainer!!

So finally got a spare couple of hours, whipped the sump off to fins the nut sat there winking at me but no big washer!! had a good look up inside, didnt notice it at first Hoofekinrayy all good then. cant see any damage anywhere.

the 400 teapot, bandit 400 aND GSXR 400 are all interchangeable as far as engine mounts go, as to the rest, carbs, pipes, loom etc,suck it and see

It was many years ago, but I reckon that’s why I wrote that in my manual. Had it fitted to mine for a while until,I made an insert that was bigger diameter, like in the picture

I have 98-06 written in the back of my manual?? they ain't cheap though, £25 for a throttle tube???

Ive used R1 ones several times, But you need the right years... Ill have a look see if i wrote it down !!

so you mean the twistgrip isn't opening the throttle fully?? move your hand round the grip a bit to open it more,, get a QA throttle, or make one of these..

If it’s 54 mm it’s a 750, 1100’s are 56 mm
