  1. Older gsx cover did fit to efe. Not sure about the model but it was from early eighties gsx.
  2. Big blocks without cooling passages between 1-2 and 3-4 cylinders tends to get hot when standing in traffic lights. My solution is to avoid them and enjoy the countryside. Streetable - yes, if you are aware the heat problem. Fuel mileage... all that I have put in the tank have gone.
  3. I would go for gsxr engine. With that power target it will be wayyyyy cheaper to build than gsx. Buy proper turbo pistons. I know that busa pistons are cheap but it is not that much when you are thinking the whole cost of the turbo build.
  4. My frame jig is getting ready and I am collecting money to start my next build. Does anyone have a picture from the spondon kat without the tank? No, I am not going to copy it but I would like to see how they made that.
  5. That is my all time favourite frame style for gsx engine. Very nice bike.
  6. We should have own event... turboquake
  7. If I remember right you only need new spacers for the swingarm axle and sort the linkage setup. K series linkage/dogbone setup is a bit different desing. I had k series shock and no clearance issues with that.

2938km/37hours I might pass this time
  9. Newer swings have different linkage setups so you need to sort that. They also use way bigger axles so you need new spacers for the bearings. You might also get some chainline issues with k -series wheels. K-series wheels are totally different compared to 1100 ones.
  10. 80's jap welds are like todays china stuff. It is quite challenging to make frame mods when the original frame is so horrible
  11. I am in no hurry. Just thinking what to do with that engine and at the moment cash seems to go anywhere else
  12. So it sounds it is worth doing. Is there something else than block return oil pipes, block the external head oil feed, fit gsx cam sprockets, chain tunnel rework, efe studs and gasket?
  13. I have slightly damaged efe engine waiting for pickup. Seller discribed the damage and I am not sure about the head is it worth repairing. Dont want to sell my kidney to get a replacement. Gsxr heads are so much cheaper and I have always wanted to do this gsxr to gsx head swap. Is it worth doing or should I just keep the gsx head. I know I can do it but just want some opinions. Engine will be NA big bore with efi
  14. Usually I use that method but I want to compare my new wheel to the stock one.
  15. Racefit sells a kit. But it is quite expensive
  16. Maybe the old bearing outer race have spun there. Just worked with total bearing failure at the work and trust me they will become loose quite fast if they spin.
  17. It looks quite high to me. I know it will feel "slower" to turn if you lower the rear end more. Headstock angle changes as you know. My bike was a bit higher at the back before I decided to go turbo. I did lower it few years ago and now it goes like a train. It was better to ride twisties when arse was higher but now it is more stable and better suited for straightline fun. Slam that to the ground
  18. Does anyone have a stock efe? I need to know a dimension from the center of the rear wheel to the inside of the rear sprocket. Need this for the chainline witchcraft
  19. Definately doable BUT you better have some fab skilz... or good friends
  20. Rwu for the win. Have to say that usd forks are not my thing anymore. For the gsxr those are ok but gsx looks way better with rwu sticks. Zx9r forks are quite nice for these old aircooled ones.
  21. K series forks needs mucho stiffer springs. I had k4 forks (softest springs in kilo k series). It was very soft to ride. Like riding in porridge.
