  2. That's really pretty. I'll be looking at this ahem, privately for inspiration over the next few days. Actually not sure about the bracing yet, been looking around but sorting measurements has been a huge task and learning curve and that's just been on getting the right if scabby 'arm. The moment you move away from standard its a different world of conflicting advice and minefield of potential mistakes. How the hell is your swinger looking so good? Did you strip it?
  3. Actually it's got no arm in it as I'm bracing it. I've had a few moments with the shorter arm but nothing to brag about so it's a motorised wheelbarrow at the moment t:D
  4. I'm answering my own question, that's what I love about OSS! Anyway in my search for dimensions I have discovered the following using my trusty tape measure: GSXR750 F = 550mm centre of pivot to centre of chain adjuster slot GSXR750 G/H = 570mm centre of pivot to centre of chain adjuster slot Of course the reason why I was so interested in finding the dimensions was because everyone wants a later 'arm to avoid the infamous shimmy in cornering. Now that Slabbies are being raced again, this makes the later and longer swing arm desirable. Unfortunately, as I didn't have the measurements I couldn't identify an earlier 'arm from a later one as well as an 1100. After research I found the above measurements, which were then backed up in the flesh when I lucked out and bought a later 'arm from fleabay. A huge difference between early Slab 1100 swing arms and 750s is in the construction of the shock linkage (cushion) mountings. On the 1100, they are a lot more substantial ('box' type) whereas the 750 is essentially welded aluminium plate. Anyway, I hope this helps and doubtless many of you already know this but there are some who might find it useful especially as parts become rare and sellers don't really know what they are flogging. The diagrams will explain what my words fall short of......I hope....
  5. Just whipped out my arm and it measures 61cm end to end near enough. Could any helpful OSS tell me what the same dim is for a 750 G or H? They are apparently longer (25mm) but was the measurement end to end or centre to centre? Could really do with the info so thanks in advance guys.

  7. Wow that sounds tempting. Going to look at their site. Let me know how you get on please and thanks for posting this! My Slab is in standard tune aside pipe at the moment so it looks like an adaptable and afordable bundle without the 'I saw you coming' prices of a Dyna system. Just after more midrange for riding between the metal boxes and a little extra thrust for trackdays.

  9. This sounds like really cool kit. Is the Ignitech unit universal in application or is it manufacturer and model specific? Also for a simpleton like me, how challenging is the fitting and my real issue, setting it up properly? Want it for my 750 Slab. Price looks very nice too.
  10. Sorry to butt in but I can recommend Airtech Streamlining over in the States. Nothing short of brilliant. They do loads of Yosh rep parts. Have had various slabby parts from them in the past and their glassfibre work is fantastic! A veritable cornucopia of Suzuki bodywork they really are. In fact I've just fitted a pair of Yoshi replica louvred panels to my current 750F Slabby and I'm loving them (see pic below). In fact, when I parked it up recently someone berated me for 'ruining' a 'rare & valuable classic' with them. They just didn't understand. You go back to polishing, I'll ride mine thank you very much and by the way you didn't notice the forks, the wheels, the master cylinders, the oil lines, cooler did you! The link lower down will lead you to a page that I am sure you will find more than interesting. Dutch at Airtech races Slabsides and Slingy's. Made Performance Berks last month with his Slingy racer too, so if in doubt mail him. He's more than happy to advise and knows his Suzukis.   11. Funny this (just re-joined from the previous site). I tried for ages to get an advancer for my '85 slabside and couldn't get one anywhere. Grumpy has had an order for them from his supplier for ages but they are on a very, very long lead time so I made my own. I need to make my 50 posts as well so this might be the first of a few (49 and counting now) Just take a Dremel to your ignition backplate and as Ben Slabby says, just slot them. A 5 degree advance approximates a 5mm hole. Make a reference mark on the timing case (score or notch it) and providing you have slotted your holes (the mounting screws on the backplate) you will then have advanced your ignition approximately 5 degrees. Make sure that you drill your slots as accurately as possible. Any chimp-like or wildly out handiwork could screw your plate, but if I can do it so can you! Obviously you'll have to test this out and check the timing but it worked for me. Now I've got slightly more midrange than I had before. I still want a Dynatech or similar with some kind of programmable advance curve though. Anyway, this is what I did and please forgive my errm.. design-work.
  12. Hi everybody. Returning from the old site! I'm after a GSXR 750 G or H slabside swingarm as I want to replace the shorter arm in my 750 F. Does anyone have one that they would be willing to sell? Picture of my nail in all her glory. Cheers.
