  1. Hi guys and Gals, after several months of being unable to take photos, I have taken a photo of 90% finished bike. Hope you think ok. Hoping to get on road very soon.
  2. I had a GS250T back in 1985, it had a pair of short slashcut exhausts on it as original exhaust had holes in. Mine had standard jetting and gearing and topped out showing 92mph on clock. CV carbs do not like foam air filters as they work on pressure differential between airbox and air basically when engine running. I would put airbox on and check valve clearances as well. Clearances are tiny on the GS from memory, about 2 thou I think.
  3. Unicorn Racing in Japan list brand new Katana looms, about £250. Think I saw them on Webike Japan.
  4. It would be worth checking the carb tops, it was popular in the 90's to restrict the opening height of the slides with a longer post moulded in the centre of the cap. This stops carb opening fully, you can shorten post if that is problem.
  5. Company called Motoarbo do a stainless steel replica of the original Harris end can.
  6. I did the same thing on mine the other week. The bottom bearing does come out, I used a short length of threaded bar with nuts on each end an then used sockets to jack out bearing.
  7. The Slabby wheels are a good width at 4.5" rear, you may need a GS500 rear sprocket carrier as they are narrow.
  8. I have a 400 Inazuma, wheel sizes are same as Bandit. 3.5" front and 5.5" rear, I have used a 180/55-17 for years. The 180 slows down the speed of roll slightly compared to the 170/60 but is cheaper to buy.
  9. Hi Guys and Gals, just received photos of the new yokes for my EFE build. Hope you like them.
  10. Try Suzuki Performance Spares, he was advertising the last one I saw.
  11. Started putting together the brake caliper now the rebuild kit arrived. Had to replace 1 piston anyway due to corrosion.
  12. Here are some pictures of the paint can.
  13. Hi Toni, I used a gold from my local Homebase. Part of their Painters Touch range. £5.99
  14. I have seen several low mileage/ rebuilt cranks for sale recently for £200.
  15. Due to time restraints, and trying to save some money for things with a higher priority, I have cleaned up the rear caliper and painted it myself. I decided that any money I saved could be better used elsewhere. Caliper bodies were soaked in Harpic Plus 10 to loosen paint, cleaned and then resoaked overnight to clean out corrosion. Painted then lacquered, I will have to see how well it stands up on use.

My local bike breakers ( Plymouth Bike Breakers ) 01752 257763. Has a GS 850 engine in stock, he is pretty cheap on parts normally. Ask for Dave.
  17. Watercooled GSXR 1100 775mm. 1997 ZX9R B4 775mm. GSXR 750 2007ish 770mm. 1year only I think.
  18. A worn small end can make a noise like a noisy tappet clearance under load.
  19. Pops Yoshimura altered the shock angle on his race bikes to improve handling. I think 31.5°, slightly forward top mount from STD I believe from an article I read.
  20. Locking screw come loose on valve adjuster? This could cause valve clearance to alter and cause missfire.
  21. Got the glass out, held in with a smear of silicone, so had to clean that off. Used a big socket on one side and a g clamp with a smaller socket to push glass out. Clutch shaft and bearings just tapped out once I removed top seal.
  22. The company doing panels is called Prototype Plastic Components. Guy called Martyn.
  23. Just fitted new bolt th shock bottom mount, wasn't happy with original as rusty and thread damaged. Just fitted carbs and airbox to engine, just need to find/replace some of the clips.
  24. Only problem with the Busa front end is the length. They are only 725mm long. A lot of people use GSXR 1100 water cooled forks or ZX9R B4 forks, both at 775mm long. Not easy to get hold of though.
  25. I would use bandit front end, 1200 and 1250 are 775 long with 43mm legs. 1250 easier to get parts for probably and has GSXR discs.
