  1. I’ve done this conversion a few times into TL1000’s which run the same wheels as the Busa. Theres 2 types of OZ wheels. The Gen 1 Forged OZ wheels have a narrower hub which is the same width as the Brembo Wheels. The Gen 2 OZ wheels have a stamped Rim with EVO written into them. Beware. There are also some Aprilia wheels that look like the OZ wheels but are cast alloy and not forged. They have then word Aprilia cast into them so ignore the OZ decals and look for the castings. OZ wheels have the word OZ stamped into the recess on the hubs. Borh wheels run 25.0mm ID bearings and the front can be made to fotttje TL/ Busa with 2 x spacers that recess into the wheel. You will need to shim out the discs as on the Gen 2 wheels the hub is a lot narrower. The Aprilia discs are offset where as the Busa / TL discs are flat. RSV / RSVR and RSV4 front discs are all the same so any will do. Gen 2 wheels need 2 x 2.0mm shims Gen1 and Brembo 5 spoke wheels need 3.5mm per side (irrc) Rear is a little more complex- Reay wheel bearings in the Busa are 28mm and 25mm on the Aprilia. No bearing swap is available so you need to shim the axle where it passes through the swingarm and the chain adjusters. A 2006 ZX6R axle is the right size. You will need to do 525 chain conversion or get Talon to do you a special rear sprocket in 530. You also need the complete rear braking system too. Caliper and Hanger. You need a custom spacer to the sprocket side and a 2.5mm spacer that fits between the swingarm and the caliper hanger…. I cut the caliper hanger down and use the Swingarm bobbin mount to fit the beak torque arm on the TL’s but the Busa shouldn’t be much different. good luck
  2. Hello, fellow TL nut…. i know that bike. It used to belong to a mate of mine! The Yoshi systems defo improve the audio; however, try a full M4 system…. Holy shit these things bark!
  3. Still need advice on this? Both my TLS' have R engines fitted.
  4. So, anyone here that knows me will know that I love twins. I picked this up earlier in the year, and while it looked ok, it was actually a polished turd. The rear suspension links were seized solid, left fork worn through through the Chrome, Copper, Zinc (or whatever the layers are) and into to the base metal. (Fucked). Sticky calipers and even cracked headers. The rest of the bike is in reasonable condition with recent paint and a few new bits to make it look nice. Inspired by this mornings Turbo lunacy, I thought I’d pull the TLR off the bench as it’s nearing completion and get it outside for the first time since the revamp. So, what do have here? GSXR600 K5 forks with some modified internals to fit TL1000R Hyperpro Progressive springs. RSV Mille Brembo Wheels. Triumph 675 Nissin Radials and Carbon Ceramic pads. (Yokes and Axle are TL) Maxton Rear shock and linkage. Full Yoshi system (Taken from the KaTL) Period aftermarket undertray that actually has BULBS!!! Brembo Rear Caliper and a one off 28/25mm rear axle to suit the wheels. 525 Chain and sprocket conversion. Next up is fresh paint for the tank and a new Fuel Pump and it’s ready to roll!!! Today I fired it up for the first time with the pipes on and it sounds sweet! (First few pics are how it was when it arrived)
  5. KaTL Turbo…. First ride! Damp slimy roads and a Turbo’d TL boosting at 7psi what could possibly go wrong? It’s actually really well behaved, spools low down with plenty of grunt. Pre-boost it rides exactly like a normally aspirated TL. Wind it on and it’s like “ HOLY-FUCK!!!!” Lightning fast acceleration and an amazing soundtrack from the 4” Exit pipe. It’s quick…. It’s REALLY FUCKING QUICK!!!!
  6. Big ask…. But, does anyone have a pressure plate from a Gen1 busa that I could borrow to compare to the TL1000R unit? Curreny mid-build into the KaTL Turbo and am considering a lock-up clutch. Nothing about for the TLR but loads for Busas for the obvious reasons. I have checked the part numbers and they are different; however, that doesn’t mean they won’t fit and work effectively. It could be that it’s like 0.5mm thicker etc. The Busa already shares some clutch parts with the TL like the centre boss and back torque limiter so I’m edging my bets but I’m not 100% sure. If someone can help that would be excellent. Thanks Matt.
  7. Little bit more done to the KaTL this weekend. Soon be ready for its maiden voyage. Im only going to run 7psi initially, just to ensure everything is right with it. Next year I’m looking to get a Turbo engine built!
  8. Ok… progress… I found these on https://www.streetfighters.com.au/showthread.php?27198-My-TL1000S-Streetfighter
  9. Yep, 100% if you ditch the ram air tubes you lose a bit off the top end. If you open up the airbox it’ll free off the bottom end and mid range though.
  10. So it turns out that it’s not a cut down fairing, they were actually purpose made radiator shrouds made my a French company a while ago. Can’t find any more details just now, but I’ll keep on it.
  11. So it’s started…. Boosted TL on the way.
  12. I’ve never seen it before, But ilL ask about on the TL FB pages. someone will know it!
