  2. Another question and doubt heavy post. Right. So this is what i'll be working with : HE221 as you can see. Good deal made with someone who'd bought all this stuff for his diesel Mercedes before figuring out that it would be too small for his appliance. Looks like these Hoslets are the growing trend in good options for a 4 cylinder bike engine though. Beyond the damning fact that now that i have a turbo in hand, i have no idea where it can actually fit on the tricycle i'm building... ... I still need to dial it in. It now springs to obviousness why external wastegates are in some (most ?) cases, a great idea. My case potentially being one of them. Current orientation of the turbo inlets/outlets will need drastically changing to suit my needs. Is it correct to state that, as long as the bearing housing is horizontal (oil pathway therefore perfectly vertical), the turbine and compressor housing can point any which way i want ? However The vacuum unit setup and placement will then cause problems, because it is solidly bolted into the compressor, with the actuator rod of the vacuum unit set in a line towards the flapper. If i can rotate the compressor outlet to wherever I'd rather it be, if i make an outboard vacuum unit mount taken off the chassis for example, in order to retain current unit position, I should be good to go ? Thanks !
  3. has anybody had any joy with aftermarket slingshot mirrors ?
  4. Thank you so much, I. Was being really thick !

  6. Stands up at a OSS meeting, hi I am Andrew. Throw huge amounts of cash... done, oh. Garbage princess... done, oh. Dreams of half a dozen new project ideas a day... done, oh. heeey I resemble those facts. Welcome to OSS andyroach let your journey begin.
  7. So the original carbs were fooked ..I think I followed a hint on the web that later GSX750F carbs mikuni bst 36 could do the job..so I fitted them and it runs ..good stuff..will be running Ramair filters and it will be going on the dyno for set up. BUT..because the float bowls sit at the wrong angle Im wondering if this might bugger things up ??? Anyone have any experience Thanks for your time
  8. The plastic bit receives the spring and the u shaped copper bit like this The plastic bit falls into a notch in the brake lever and moves onto the 2 copper contacts / rails when the brake is used. When the U bit and the rails touch eachother the brake light will switch on. @ddd
  9. Interesting. I'll just order the five hole gasket and snip off the unneeded mounting hole portion then. Cheers.
  10. I've a real soft spot for Nottingham , really good food, great nightlife ....seen more bands at Rock City than I care to remember, and it had all the NCC crew there 20-30 years ago , real biker town . And a pint of old Puke is always good.
  11. Please tell me how this front brake switch is put together I have a bit of plastic a spring and a U shaped brass contact, thanks in advance regards Tony
  12. I didn't, but I would think it's the b6 head that had a shallower combustion chamber. So using the b6 head with the 750 pistons would of bumped the compression up. I never even rode the bike before I sold it as I got it running and the jetting somewhere need but it needed tyres etc but a mate offered me good money for it and I needed the space.
  13. Unlikely to blow-by as there are 4No holes, all at 90 degrees to each other.

    Big Bore B6?

Just out of curiosity did you have a 750 head to compare to the 600? was it that the head of the b6 had a shallower combustion chamber than the 750 do you think kind of like the dot head vs 11/1200 head different chamber size ?
  15. My bits were delivered with a 4 hole gasket for some reason ? So not sure whether it makes a difference
  16. The Dresda custom offset discs arrived today from All Bike Engineering. Top class work.

    Big Bore B6?

The 771 wiseco pistons that Clive has are still listed on us sites and wossner list similar for long stroke motors @£640/650 ish ...... Soon adds up to 11/1200 money
  18. I put a set of long stroke 750 barrels and pistons on a b6 motor (project see how far we go gs550 b6) Used the b6 head but had to use two head gaskets so the pistons didn't touch. Apart from that it was a straight swap. If it came to it again, I'd just put a 750 motor in it and just change the cc on the V5 and leave the engine number as is, because as you say the DVLA just make problems just for a joke

    What frame

Not homemade at all! That was built by Paul ( i think his name is) at Diverse. Was built with a turbo'd 750 motor in.
  20. I know it’s not what you asked for, but R1 wheels into a Busa is a popular swap. Places like TPC / Total Performance Cycles in the US do off the shelf spindles etc. Those RSV ones do look nice though. I’d love a radial front end for my Gen-1 but a pair of those could tempt me away from that.
  21. It's not difficult to drill the head and add a 6mm cap screw / bolt like the earlier engines had .. Upperton often does it on EF heads
  22. On eb@y maybe but OSS prices tend to be a lot lower. You sell lower; you buy lower
  23. Thanks for this info. Super helpful! I have copied and pasted it so I can find it later.
  24. 70mm with 18mm pin with 15mm pin height. There not for sale if you were wondering.
  25. Thanks Arnout, That was my thinking but good to get confirmation it can happen as described. Its not that long since it was rebuild so the bodge fix might keep it dry for now until I get time to strip it back and replace the gasket.
  26. i'm going into the workshop today to do some more fiddling with the GS so will have a poke under the welding bench and check out the wheel situation. I'm in Beeston just off the A52 towards the M1. The Kettle is always on and you would be most welcome.
