First inspection

The labels with "Jan Smit's Power Parts" engraved on them have made me very curious about what had been done to the engine internals.
I had to repair a hole in the leftside engine cover so I decided to continue stripping the bike and take the carbs off.
I'm not used to dealing with airboxes anymore so it was an enormous struggle to get the carbs out.
After I removed the intake rubbers I was very disappointed to see there hadn't been any work done to the intake ports. So now I'm afraid it only has bigger pistons fitted in case it will produce nowhere the power figures that my 7/11 does. It will have a lot of low down power with the big-bore kit and standard carbs, but I'll just have to ride it to know for sure. It will take a few weeks for me to get it running.

Stripping her down

You can still see the casting marks in the intake port... bummer :-(
