Patrick's GSX-R7/11F Project

The rear shock assembly

The original shock went straight into the bin.
I saw a slightly used GSX-R750RR shock advertised in a magazine that was third the price of a new aftermarket shock. After a quick phonecall I discovered the RR shock wasn't a direct replacement, but I reckoned it would be worth the hassle to try and make it fit somehow and still turn out cheaper than a new one ending up with a fully adjustable rear shock.

First, I had to change the lower link from a fork-type mounting point to a eye. I used the bearing from the old shock.
