GJG's
Turbo EFE
It's been very quite since we
featured GJG's yellow
EFE a while back, but the man with what was once the fastest
normal-aspirated dragbike in Holland is working hard on his return...
On these pages GJG will keep us up-to-date on the progress
of his new project. |
And you think old GSX's are all
about to be extinct by now? Ha!
This is me, shoehorning in a big shiny thing that could be mistaken
for a saw-mill dust cyclone...
Old EFE's never die... They just go faster!
The new bike will be much more extreme, dragstrip use only. GSX-R
engine, 'Busa wheels, fork and brakes, Bandit swingarms and... a Turbonetics
turbo! |
|
The "yellow monster bike" went
more or less into retirement. Untill the late nineties it has kept
three generations of GSX-R's behind it at the dragstrip.
However it can't competet with the current 'busas and NOS-kits. Any
more tuning without loosing street-ability wouldn't be possible so
now the bike is being used for small outings with my girlfriend. |

| Bracketry: These plates were made to mate
the EFE frame with the GSX-R engine. Aluminium plates were made courtesy
of "Van Bussel Metaaltechniek" using a new 5kW laser, able
to cut Aluminium up to 12mm.... |

T3/4a:
This is the very rare sight of a brand new T3/T4 Hybrid, carbon
sealed, ceramic ball bearing, Turbonetics Turbo. This thing can
pass so much air, an original Garrett T3/T4 can be found on, for
instance... a Sierra RS Cosworth (RS 500 Cosworth, for good measure)
or the Ford RS200, a Rally-car so fast it was banned. Just imagine
what it will be able to do on a bike... |
As whe speak, the
compressor housing is of to a machine shop so it can be mated with
a HSR Turbo carb, that is in the post. |
 |
I will
keep you all up to date as work progresses slow but steadily.
