EVO
2000
Sandro
Serafini is never finished with his pride and joy called "Evo
2".
After the original oil-cooled engine had blown at a Performance
Bike Magazine track test Sandro first fitted a Bandit 1200 engine
to keep the bike on the road while the engine stayed with Zack Barry
for a rebuild.
The plan was to fit a special head built by Roger Upperton, a very
famous tuner.
But due to circumstances there now has been a change of plan and
Sandro has fitted a water-cooled GSX-R engine along with some very
tasty and above all incredibly big 41mm Keihin FCR flatslide carbs.
What's
even more special is that Sandro got his hands on a Bimota SB6R
tank/seat unit complete with the underseat pipes.
The seat unit is made of pre-preg carbon fibre which is so strong
that it's completely self-supporting.
It's actually better than self-supporting because the exhaust pipes
are mounted directly bolted onto the seat unit so there's no need
for a subframe at all!
You
can see on the pics how Sandro has supported the seat unit with
a small canister while he is trying to figure out how to connect
the collector to the two silencers.
This
is very hard with a bike using a conventional swing-arm as there
is no room to guide the large diameter pipe snugly along the frame,
and when you route them behind the rearsets the pipe sticks out
into view which isn't very pretty. But
from what we have seen from Sandro in the past I'm sure he will
come up with a very good looking and efficient solution.

NO
it can't be... a bl*de in this picture!?

Actually
what your looking at is a fuel pre-heating system. Very trick.

You
can use the backfires from these babies as brakelights.
