Hello
there!
Im "Isac" from Stockholm Sweden.
I ride a 1260 cc turbocharged Kat that I would like to show.
Engine: Bored 1260 cc, lowered comp.ratio for turbocharge,
welded crank, forged pistons, ported head with an "export cam".
Super hub clutch, undercut gearbox and specially built oilsystem
for turbo/engine.
Saab 9000 turbo kit, all pipes built by Lars Pedersen (my BEST friend).
Compression chamber for carbs built by Marklund at MC-Express, Piteå,
Sweden.
Chassis:
Original Katana.
Front fork Yamaha FZR750-'87, wheels and brakes from GSX-R1100.
Specially built rear sprocket, so its on high gearing, it runs 110
on 1st gear and tops at...? the tacho stops at 240 km/h, so I don't
know...
I charge 1,0 bar and gonna get 1,6 when the intercooler is installed.
Horsepower? I guess somewhere between 200 and 250 hp... I dont know,
but it runs like hell!
Thank you for a great site, and I hope others will become interested
in modifying
the old Kats.

I
found your katana web page and it brought back good memories of
my kat that I rode nearly every day for 9 years.
I brought it in 1989 with 20 000k's on the clock. It's an '81 model
1100S and only sold it after my wife got a job at Kawasaki Australia.
While I had it, the odometer clicked over to 00000 and I sold it
with 40.000K's.
During that time it got a wiseco 1133cc kit put through it, the
head was ported, the valves re-seated and new clutch plates and
springs and finally it needed a new stator.
That's pretty trouble free riding after 120.000K's.
It took me to work every day in good and bad weather.
It took me on camping trips, fishing trips, ride days at eastern
creek and oran park raceway, street drag meets, 10.7 secs 1/4 mile,
etc.
I even delivered pizza's on it.
That red bag on the back is a real pizza heater bag, there's a spot
light under the fairing to see letter box numbers and under the
pizza bag I had fishing rod holders.
I loved my kat but the modern handling of a ZX7R finally won me.
But i still miss it sometimes.
Regards,
Jeff Seach
