'This bike belongs to a young lady called Sarah, known generally (and on Bikersweb
& this site) as Minxy - there is something of a tale to tell here.

The bike was built to be one of a pair by her partner, Brian Knight (known
as Bully_UK), and was destined to be finished for her to enter into bike shows
at the end of summer 2002. The bike was finished - and entered - into Rock
& Blues 2002, but sadly Bully passed away in August 2002. He never completed
his own bike.
It was always his wish that the bike be taken to the Celtic Warriors Big One
and entered into the custom show - bravely, and on the day after his funeral,
Minxy rode the bike up and entered it into the show. The Celtic
Warriors sponsored a trophy in his memory - "The Bully UK Memorial
Trophy" which was awarded to a trike picked out by Sarah.
This feature and the feature in BSH, mostly written by Minxy herself, are
a memorial to Bully.'

"...Bike purchased approx 18 months ago as an 'I love it and am never going to change a thing'.
Hmmmmm. First I came across an USD front end which gave it a more aggressive 'fighter' look rather than the GS1000 original. Then, of course, you need to balance the bike as it was running an old GPZ600 back end. Before I had chance to do that, I blew the original GS1000 motor trying to keep up with plastic fantastics down the A1M.
The motor was repaired, but I had lost confidence in the motor and came across the GSX1100 motor which fitted straight in bar a couple of brackets. [See - told you all so - Taff] The motor had been stood a long while and was a git to get running. Even after a trip to BSD's it still wasn't quite right. I don't think a motor has ever had its carbs balanced as much as this one.(Thanks for your patience Mark!)
Sorted eventually! So, now I got an USD f/end and a big motor…..
Back end; came across a single sider at Newark Auto Jumble for a price I just couldn't refuse and Bully set about the job of fitting. Not straight forward because of the lowered seat rails, there was not much room for electrics. Got around the problem by fitting the shock at an angle and locating the smallest battery possible! Bike was totally rewired by Bully.
There have been lots of people who have had an input into this labour of love. I would particularly like to mention Brad (casual labourer) for putting my ideas into words, Ratty for making sure that the bike ran for the funeral ride out and the Celtics Rally and of course Bully.
This was his first custom bike project and he devoted many, many hours to getting it just how I wanted it (which wasn't always clear!)
So, what's next? Well, a few engine mods maybe? A big bore kit wouldn't go amiss and I'd like to chop a bit more off the back end to tuck the no. plate underneath the mudguard and...
