I have been to many oldskoolsuzuki social events where an assortment of fine OSS machinery sits in the pub car park for the weekend while the owners exchange stories at the bar. Now there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, I like the bar as much as the next guy but I have to say, there is no substitute for seeing these machines in action. For this reason we announced early in the year that all future OSS real world meetings would centre around bike centric events. To coincide with the anniversary of the relaunched site we arranged for a … Continue reading
Here at oldskoolsuzuki.info we are united by our love of these 80’s and 90’s bronto-bikes. The project section is our busiest forum section and it has supplied us with an amazing variety of very special BOTM builds. This month’s bike of the Month winner comes to us from the OSS trick frame department and it is fair to say that it is a truly exceptional example. When you follow a build like this you are immediately struck, or more accurately you are immediately dumbstruck, by the level of thought and absolute dedication to quality that has gone into every component. … Continue reading
The weekend of the 8th ,9th and 10th of July will mark 1 year of the new site being up and running. We will be marking that event at Cadwell Park with a gathering and participation in the Classic Bike Track day. There are some important things to remember for the weekend and with less than a week to go there’s just time to give everyone a poke and say “get your shit together dude it’s next weekend!” Riders So if you are on track you don’t have to worry about camping because it is complimentary but you do need … Continue reading
This time last year we were getting ready to press the go live button on the re-launch of oldskoolsuzuki.info. At the time we were all worried whether it would work and whether anyone would actually turn up. As we approach our 1st birthday we have the benefit of hindsight and fortunately you did turn up. Not only did you turn up but you stuck around and you shared your workshop antics and your crazed shed born master plans with us through nearly 8000 project posts. The projects section remains our busiest section and that confirms that we got the emphasis … Continue reading
Most of us are happy enough with a stroll on the beach and a toe-dip in the sea but MeanBean Rob and his Spondon framed custom build have other salty pleasures in mind when they hit the sand. In case you haven’t already heard this road legal, boosted monster has been officially clocked at an astonishing 178mph during the UK Speed Week held on the legendary Pendine Sands last month. Yes, you read that right. 178mph on sand. To see the pair in action from the riders view, click right here. To congratulate Rob on his the Bike of the Month pace setting winner, click here. We highly recommend you watch the video.
When you’ve got bigger ideas than your budget allows then it’s time you dusted off the golden rules – Improvise, Adapt, Overcome. This month’s winning brute had already seen some upgrades in previous ownership however with careful attention to detail and some inspired thinking, we reckon Sheep has firmly made his mark and still retained a sense of humour. Whether your build began with a standard machine or a ‘project bike’ or if you started from scratch, the tales are familiar to all so why not drop by here to congratulate Sheep on being a Bike of the Month Winner. Click for more details about his EFE.

When we re-launched the site we were keen not to fall into the traps that the previous forum had suffered from. As we saw it ,those were bandwidth issues and forum maintenance issues. We also wanted to fund the site independently and transparently, without donations. Bandwidth So as far as the bandwidth issues were concerned we decided to host the entire site remotely. In order to keep hosting costs low we restricted the size of uploads ( pictures) In the time that the site was down everyone naturally and understandably became very used to the seamless and automatic picture resizing prowess … Continue reading
There are few points in a bike build that have more potential for self back patting and/or self loathing than the inaugural visit to the dyno man. It is the place where a curved line graph and 3 magic digits coldly define the fruits of a long winter spent chasing those elusive extra horses. Dyno runs don’t normally come cheap but thanks to OSS member Havoc ( Tom Davidson) we have secured the use of a dyno provided by RTR in Nottingham. Dyno sessions will be 20-25 minutes for just £25. Each dyno run will come with a full print … Continue reading
