  1. Manual doesn't show extra thrust washers but mentions it in later revision , parts book I've got for 83 on shows it . End of the day clutch started to slip so changed the plates and that's all ,wouldn't expect to have to mix and match plates with an off the shelf replacement specific kit . Live and learn , oem plates way forward
  2. New oem is next on the list , steels are fine. Everyone on here says oem but thought that was a longevity issue not the clutch working or not . 2.6 mm vs just over 3mm for sps ones makes the stack plus 3mm if me maths is right
  3. Yup chatters like a cunt but works with old plates in , will be making another phone call to supplier in morning. While been typing this with bike running ,chatter died down . All this hassle cause of a set of shit plates
  4. Was fine before mate, think the sps fibres are too thick , going to chuck the old ones back in , even though they slipped are strangely 2.6 mm or a smidgen above .oh that piano wire that holds the first steel and gubbins , is it important as could not get it on new drum
  5. Yes all back together with new inner drum , ta dah , just the same

    New Arrival

And another one into the fold , what's the story ? Looks good for resto , ride as is or mod
  7. Would seem that there were numerous small tweaks over the years , now i have a manual, new clutch inner should be here this week and even this changed early on with longer bolts and bushes used and that has again been superceded by a steel centre one , think I'll just take me time and double check everything , thanks all for the input.
  8. Now I've got me glasses back on what do we think to this ? Can't think that anything is there to make contact
  9. It's always the simple things , in this case the owner
  10. Yeah i know mate just ordered one from sps, mines fucked, where's me glasses
  11. Should have paid more attention
  12. Not too bad for 47000 miles , ordered a 16 valve manual so will wait for that before stripping again just to be sure everything else is right , someone mentioned the thrust and Bush washers being other way round if it was the ten plate model but ebc list all of them 9 plates finishing with a fibre
  13. Got the oem springs back in , guess I'll try the old plates back in and apart from them slipping if the clutch works properly that's me answere
  14. Just wound all the adjusters in and moved the arm , still dragging, never had this before, all I've done is change the plates
  15. Still dragging, got king track fibres and changed one of the steels that was a bit sticky , so assuming I've got the washers in the right orientation as mentioned at the start of the thread is is worth trying the old plates to see if the new ones are the problem , it rides OK just have to adjust all the free play out and then some , add another steel ?
  16. What is it ? Sub lighting loom , I'm buggered with electricity

    First ride out

And wouldn't you know it , efe fired right up but needed clutch bleeding from remote res lol

    First ride out

Took it apart again just after fitting and noticed one of the steels was tight or awkward fit on the drum so put it at the top , just pulled it out and its not a good fit compared to the others ,don't know why but new one arriving Wednesday. Looks like the efe coming out to play tomorrow

Cheers mate , getting a few miles in to bed the clutch in
  21. First time out after light cosmetic tart up
  22. Good point . Spent weeks fucking around with gsxr 11 clutch to no avail .struck her up put it in gear and nailed it , problem solved . Did find one of the steels was a bit sticky in the esd basket so may have to get some new ones. But think the burnout method will be the first port of call
  23. Well it's still not disengaging but dragging when in gear when pushing so. . Think ill start her up at weekend to look see . Oh took the heavy duty clutch springs out too ! Um when i first posted this i hadn't removed the back basket so I'm wondering if the new clutch plates are right ? Assuming so as they came from sps . Guess I'll have to take the cover back off and have another look see . Thanks for the help , appreciate it
  24. What an arse that was , didn't see this post until after I'd done it . Was that pissed off after i put it back together just locked the shed up . Will have to check operation when get home later
