  1. @nokturnalNot had any problems so far. Here was a lap at Cadwell last June.
  2. Been a bit busy with work lately so I've neglected my OSS thread Had a slow start to the season, marred by jetting problems. I've finally got the jetting done and will test it out at the classic track day at Cadwell on Sunday. I'll do a more detailed update of the bits I've done later, but here is a pic of where it's at now.
  3. @downtheshedsorry missed your comment, I don't sell vinyls I'm afraid. @Swiss Toniyour too king Had a good day on Sunday sticking and painting, still a bit to do on the tail but getting there. I'm a bit annoyed that the tank stripes don't line up with the from fairing lines, I get a headache in my eye every time I look at it, once the rest is finished I will probably redo the tank stripes Next job is mucking out the garage
  4. Yes matey, all received thanks!
  5. Brands has been cancelled this weekend due to snow which is just as well as I'm still not ready But I have not wasted the opportunity to spend the weekend in the garage! Bit of checker plate for the seat unit and a bodged catch tank at the back. I will be making a new aluminium battery bay with an incorporated catch tank soon SRAD wheel is a tight squeeze, needed to lose 25mm off the overall width and with the big fat brake hanger I thought this will be easy... WRONG! most of the meat had to be removed from the sprocket carrier to keep the wheel on the centre line 20mm I seem to remember. SRAD front wheel was much easier to do, just fabbed up 2 spacers. Adaptor plates for the SRAD calipers were a bit more involved than I had anticipated, still I pleased with the result Stick coils ahoy! Temperature sensor tapped into the oil cooler flow banjo bolt. Bit of authenticity, secondhand from Grumpy And the bling fairy stopped by in the form of my star sponsor aka Dad Looking to be racing at Mallory on the 8th of April, so plenty of time... WRONG!
  6. I have an alternator I bought loose, it has 2 wired with spade connectors, from what I can tell they are both positive and the negative goes through the engine, can i connect both of these to the battery positive terminal? I'm only running the starter motor and the ignition, everything else has been stripped out.
  7. Haha, an hour in the ultrasonic cleaner and a new seal... racing on a budget
  8. Been stacked lately with work and had a few set backs but here's a few pics of the progress so far, supposed to be racing at Brands on Saturday so need to get my skates on Proper update to follow...
  9. I've had the snapped throttle cable before and a re-snap after soldering, I always use some self cleaning plumbers flux for soldering them on now
  10. Had an industrious Sunday, while stuck indoors watching the child I managed to get all the vinyls cut and backed ready for the fairing (when it arrives) Going for a variation on this one Fairings are coming in black so a bit of red paint, the vinyls and happy days. Still some room for a few OSS decals if there's any going
  11. One of my least favourite jobs, putting the spring retainers on... But soldiered and not the head is one and torqued up. Time to dial in the cams, I've made a couple of tools to use as a piston stop and a secure holder for the degree wheel... The degree wheel is paper an card, I used Autocad to draw and print it. With it all set up I have worked out that the duration is taken at 6 thou lift on these standard cams, also calculated the intake cam is 4 degrees out (advanced) and the exhaust is 2.5 degrees out (advanced) so next job is to slot the cam pulleys.
  12. You have the black round ones I guess, less float height means more fuel in the float chamber. I like to set them up on a bench and measure what fuel comes out of each and adjust accordingly
  13. I would be more worried about stress cracks, but I assume there is a fair amount of redundancy built into these old bikes.
  14. It wouldn't be a mod I would do for the road, but for a race bike its probably worth the risk for a bit more rigidity.
  15. 18mm Float heights? I have the brown squarish floats and I thought the float height was 14-15mm.
