Competition Time!! Courtesy of Streetfighters Magazine Posted Friday, September 19, 2008 by PerversePolisher

As some of you will know, Will of Streetfighters Magazine went off travelling round the world, leaving his grotto at SF Towers in a disgusting mess. On his return he was ordered to live under his desk for a week as a punishment for leaving a particularly bad stench that wafted round the building for the entire time he was away. Whilst he was under his desk he found a rather nice shiney oil-cooler cover that had been featured in their "New Products" page some time ago. They have offered it to us as a competition prize, which is open to site members only.

New Site Sponsor making Engine Cases Posted Tuesday, September 9, 2008 by PerversePolisher

I was contacted by Mar71n of M&K Enterprises a short while ago to discuss some engine cases that they had made to suit GSXR and Bandit oil-cooled motors. Promptly a set landed on my doormat with a loud "CLUNK" and I was amazed to see the superb quality of these cases produced by M&K Enterprises. They are offering them to OldSkool SUZUKI site members at a more-than-reasonable price, so send Mar71n an email or PM to get yourself a set of these.

OSS PhotoShoot (update) Posted Monday, August 18, 2008 by PerversePolisher

The photoshoot on the 23rd August has been cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control. However, a "roll-in, roll-out" session has been arranged for the photoshoot on the 30th - i.e. all bikes the turn up can have a few pics with models drapped over them. So just for turning up you will get a few very nice shots of your bike. Be good to see as many of you there as posible!!

Calendar PhotoShoot (UK and NL) Posted Thursday, August 14, 2008 by PerversePolisher

We're already looking towards 2009, so with that in mind we have arranged a photoshoot for you to come along and get some professional photos taken of your bike with some luvverly models. We have a tentative date of 23 August (dependant on interest) and a definite date of 30th August. At a studio near Cambridge. Even if your bike isn't selected to be photographed on the day, it's worth turning up and meeting some fellow OldSkoolSUZUKI site members. Remember when it comes to selecting bikes for the calendar, I am not only looking for show-winning shineyness, a complete wreck has just as much chance of being selected.

There will also be a photoshoot in the Netherlands, this is being organised by Badr and Rene_EFE, they are currently organising a location and the date of that shoot will be confirmed very soon.

Mr.7/11 and so the story ends. Posted Friday, June 6, 2008 by Mr.7/11

It's been heading that way for a long time, but this is where it ends.
As of today I have layed down all my duties on OSS, which is now run completely by PP, the guy who has been the nitrous injection into the OSS combustion chamber ever since the day the site changed from robbynitroz.nl to oldskoolsuzuki.info

Funny enough it ends just like I started being a webmaster... a slabby 7/11 in bits and no katana worth mentioning (Made four attempts in two decades at building a proper kat but never made it happen).

Don't worry I still like bikes. If I want to move my body over a considerably distance in the least time possible a bike is still the transportation of choice. And it'll most likely be powered by an air/oil cooled in-line four built by Suzuki. Maybe even somewhere in the future it might be a VERY VERY FAST oilcooled engine...

But this is as far as it goes for me.

First incarnation of the 7/11, a decade ago.

knarF's GS1000 means buisiness. Posted Friday, March 27, 2008 by Mr.7/11

We were able to measure 133.7 DIN PK @ 10998 RPM before the clutch let go at 100Nm @ 4000 RPM.
This bike not only looks the part...

April Fools Run. Posted Tuesday, February 26, 2008 by PerversePolisher

No doubt that by now many of you will have heard of the April Fools Run (AFR) being organised by streetfighters MCC which is based upon an idea originated by a top Australian based site, streetfighters.com.au
The event is intended to bring like-minded Streetfighter owners together, with meetings being organised all around the World. We have been asked to attend with as many members as possible. Please visit the Streetfighters MCC site to buy yourself a ticket.

Similarly, Streetfighters Owners Club (SFOC) are also organising an event, again, which OSS have been invited to attend, at Squires Cafe, Yorkshire. This is a "free to attend" gathering, and well worth going along to, if only to gawp at bikes, chat quarter-mile times, discuss trick engineering, etc.

Naturally both events will be taking place simultaneously.

This is the dawning of a new era. Posted Tuesday, October 2, 2007 by Mr.7/11

People checking the newspage might think the website got deserted. There's just so much been going on both regarding the website and on a personal level that the website itself has suffered.
The situation as it is right now will probably remain like this untill the end of the year as I have to concentrate on personal life and my job, as well as finishing ongoing stuff, but beginning next year we will start improving the website.
We'll get a new .infoBoard, the guestbook and Owners Gallery kicked into life etc. etc. so you'll be able to enjoy OSS to full effect. It'll also mean I will move behind the scenes. The website *is* the core of OSS and allthough it is very tempting to do all kinds of exciting projects, spannering on the website is what is most needed now (call it in need of a long due service).

So this is a kind of goodbye for now as I'm taking some time off before disappearing into the machine room.

Allmost Showtime! Posted Friday, August 10, 2007 by Mr.7/11

As you may know the site has been neglected a bit over the last couple of months in favour of building knarF's Yoshimura GS1000 and resolving both personal and website hosting problems.
The fantastic people of FHMoto have saved the website by putting us on a dedicated server so if you love OSS ,and I'm sure you do, and need anything for your bike contact them first!

knarF's bike is coming together fast thanks to all the brilliant OSS members and due to be revealed at Streetfighterday in the Netherlands and then be taken to Fighterama in Germany. If yo can't make those shows our friend the bike journo Clink will make excellent High-res pictures of the bike so you can pick them up at your local newsstand over the coming months.

When all the excitement has settled down we'll start improving the website again, that's a promise!

The .infoBoard is back up again... Posted Wednesday, July 24, 2007 by Mr.7/11

Time for me to catch some Zzzzz's

Yes the .infoBoard has been shut down again... Posted Wednesday, July 18, 2007 by Mr.7/11
For the nth time our website has been killed by our webhost because it overloads the server.
I wish I had taken the time to convert the site to something SQL based but personal stuff just doesn't allow it.
In the meantime PP is working on getting us moved to a dedicated server sponsored by FHMoto but it will probably take a couple of weeks before it's back.
Apologies for the inconvenience guys, better lay down your keyboards and pick up your tools and show us what you've accomplished when we're back! I will show you a very nice GS1000 if all goes well/bad depending how you look onto it.

*UPDATE July 23th* As you may have noticed the .infoBoard is back but there are still some configuration issues to be solved before you can log on.

Streetfighterday Kick-Off pictures Posted Friday, May 21, 2007 by Mr.7/11
The pre-party for Holland's main streetfighter event was another great success. It's allways great to hear how much this website is appreciated and there was lots of enthusiasm for knarF's project. The sky was buzzing with expectation for the revealing of the finished bike at Streetfighterday.

View pictures of all the lovely Suzuki's at the party by clicking here.

Streetfighterday Kick-Off Posted Friday, April 27, 2007 by Mr.7/11
May is a busy month in the Netherlands. On the 5th we've got the RasTec open day, on the 6th there's a meeting at the Dom in Utrecht and on the 20th there is...

But first I'm on holiday for a week :-)

OldSkoolSUZUKI .info HorsePower Shootout Posted Wednesday, April 25, 2007 by PerversePolisher
Now the site's up and running again, it's time to concentrate on the important things, like the HorsePower Shootout at Gibson Exhausts on 5th May 2007. We'll be having the usual "No BullShit" award (someone please beat Brians 7/12 this year!!). Should be a nice range iof bikes turning up.
Entry is £15; that gets your bike in the contest and as many free dyno runs as you like afterwards to help set your bike up (i.e. fiddle with your jets, filters, etc). Derren and Tony from Gibsons will be on hand to give advice, and show off some of their oldskool RD's, and probably try to sell a few exhaust systems/cans too.
To enter please send a paypal payment of £15 to perversepolisher@oldskoolsuzuki.info and I'll mark your name against the list

First OSS meeting of the year in the Netherlands Posted Tuesday, April 3, 2007 by Mr.7/11
On the 5th of may Ron will organise an open day at his firm "RasTec".
Ron has a long history of building oldskool suzukis and currently is building the engine of knarF's Yoshi GS1000.
OSS will be present with a stand and there will also be a meeting of the Dutch Katana Club, so it's an event you certainly don't want to miss!

Warp speed Mr.Sulu! Posted Thursday, March 1, 2007 by Mr.7/11
After a couple of weeks we have finally settled in our new home, provided by Yaan from Forever-IT. The move from a Windows-based server to a Linux-based platform causes some problems but performance really benefits!
Thanks to everybody who offered help and donated money to cover costs!

Slow website! Posted Thursday, February 15, 2007 by Mr.7/11
As you probably have noticed the website is rather slow.
We had to move the website to a temporary location untill we found a new home. At the moment we're looking at the options and promise to be back at full speed soon!
